My intent as a teacher is actually to create in my scholars a deep perception as well as self-assurance at tests and being capable to handle new concerns. The base of my theory is the concept that learning occurs in an environment of mutual recognition in which the learner is supported to think and find relationships for themselves. According to my practice personal tuition has a special usefulness to students due to the ability to break down the children' personal restraints to study in a way that lays the roots for a thorough and long-term understanding of the theme.
Analytic thinking
My approach differs depending on the student's needs and learning style. Though, the basis of my teaching philosophy is stimulating children to think on their own, employing real-world examples everywhere possible. |My opinion is that it is important to provide students with a working skills and to practice analytical skills for establishing upon this knowledge. Training a person to think analytically is at the fundamental of things that a student must intercept from any subject program.
The role of mentoring
The most long-lasting improvements a tutor can bring in is coaching children, and it is a technique, that I find interesting and beneficial. From my practice, I discovered the effect of engaging students by using examples and of delivering material at a level that assumes comprehension and yet not necessarily knowledge, mixing the unknown with the known within a combination which gives the student the sensation of possibility instead of that one of impossibility that official and impressive methods may impose.
My teaching tricks
I start from questions the scholars are good with and proceed step-by-step towards more complex fields as their peace of mind is being raised. I bring into play examples and questions to make sure grasping permanently. I tend not to lecture to students or ask them to remember things. Nor do I perform the students' investigation for them!
I constantly concentrate on test-style as well as last paper questions in order to confirm, practice and refine the student's comprehension and technique. I also give a lot of attention to a number of the not so obvious but vital abilities like logical thought, essay technique and structure, and the useful use of graphs and numbers.
